Summer School
2025 SUMMER SCHOOL REACH-AHEAD PROGRAM
At this time, we are asking that interested students choose the course and the delivery option by completing the corresponding google form. Students may only enroll in ONE of the 3 options. Parents must complete the Google Form to register their child for summer school. Students 18 years of age can register themselves.
There are 3 options for summer school: In person OR Virtual OR eLearning. Students are required to attend the full summer school session (110 hours) to meet curriculum expectations outlined by the Ministry of Education for all 3 options. Vacations and holidays should NOT be taken for the duration of the course. Please read the detailed Summer School information and courses offered here: Summer School 2025
Please note that all students will initially be placed on a waitlist; acceptance in the course and other information will be provided later in May/June by the Continuing Education Department responsible for the Summer School program at the OCDSB.

OPTION 2: VIRTUAL
Date: July 3 to July 25, from 8:30 am to 3:35 pm
Please note that this option does NOT fulfill the provincial eLearning requirement for graduation. Students enrolled in virtual courses will participate in both synchronous and asynchronous learning throughout the school day based on a predetermined schedule (will be shared upon acceptance into the course). Students enrolled in virtual courses will need access to a device and reliable internet throughout the day. Students who require a device will need to make arrangements with their home school. More information to follow once registration is confirmed.

OPTION 3: eLearning
Date: July 3 to July 31 (please note that this option finishes 4 days later than the in person and virtual options).
This option MEETS the provincial eLearning requirement for graduation if you did not OPT OUT. Elearning courses are delivered asynchronously only. Students will read, work independently, complete assignments and interact with their teacher and classmates from July 3 to July 31. Courses are delivered through the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). Students must log in daily and should plan to spend a minimum of 6-8 hours per day on their course. Students may need to be available for oral assessments at scheduled times. Students must NOT schedule vacations, travel, employment etc for the duration of eLearning Summer School as timelines/due dates will not be adjusted to accommodate planned absences.
