Biology Field Trip - Huntsman Marine Science Centre
This is to inform you that the Sir Wilfrid Laurier SS Science department is hosting an "Information Evening" for parents of potential Grade 11 Biology students in the 2025-2026 academic year.
We are arranging a field trip for 20 Biology students to the Huntsman Marine Science Centre in St. Andrews New Brunswick the week of September 29th, 2025. The estimated cost of the trip is $1500 per student. This would include transportation, accommodation on site, a week of laboratory and field lab activities like a "whale and wildlife tour", and meals while on campus.
The trip is tailored to the Grade 11 Biology curriculum and this is why potential Grade 11 Biology students will have priority over Grade 12. However, a waiting list of interested Grade 12 students will also be set-up in the event we do not reach our target of 20 Grade 11 Biology students.
A Student Information Meeting will be held on Wednesday February 19th at lunch in Room 233.
Parents will have an opportunity to ask questions at a PARENT Information meeting on Thursday February27th at 6 PM in the Sir Wilfrid Laurier SS LIBRARY.
Please RSVP if you are planning to attend the Parent Information meeting on February 20th to Mustapha Rajab, Department Head for Science/French at mustapha.rajab.jr@ocdsb.ca
Thank you.
