What is Co-op?
-
Coop is a course available to grade 11 & 12 students that integrates classroom learning with practical experience in a workplace.

Students spend half (2 credit) or full day (4 credits) at a workplace within an industry of their choice.
Placement Opportunities

Coop teachers, in consultation with the students, select and organize placements according to the students’ strengths and interests.

Students must be interviewed by the placement supervisor to be accepted for the placement (formality of interview varies depending on employer).
Why Take Co-op?

It’s never too early to start thinking about what you might want to do as a future career. Co-op is a great opportunity to try something out before you spend money on college and/or university to find out you don’t like it.

It provides you with “real” experiences for learning, you’re able to make connections within the workplace, and it’s work experience to add to your resume.
