STUDENT SAFETY ISSUE

With colder/rainy weather, we have seen a significant increase in the number of cars dropping students off at school, and a serious concern for student safety has become apparent. Each morning, a number of vehicles are not following our established traffic plan and create bottlenecks that lead to unsafe driving and risk to students. Immediate action is required to ensure our students are safe coming to/from school.

All families are asked to review the traffic plan below and ensure anyone driving their student(s) to school is familiar with the plan. We will be increasing supervision of this area, adding additional signage, and asking for additional Police/Bylaw enforcement of traffic in and around the school. Thanks in advance for your cooperation in ensuring student safety.

Vehicle Traffic Plan

For students being dropped off or picked up by car, please refer to the traffic plan below. For the safety of all students, families and staff, please follow the path indicated by the arrows, and only drop off students in the Drop-Off Zone indicated in GREEN so that they can safely walk along the sidewalk to the school entrance C.  Please do not use the service road at the back of the school or the driveway in front of the school, which are reserved for school buses/vans and Day Care Drop Off only.
