Welcome Grade 9 Students
to Sir Wilfrid Laurier Secondary School
We are very excited that your child will be attending Sir Wilfrid Laurier Secondary School, and we look forward to meeting them on Tuesday, September 5th, 2023.
Sir Wilfrid Laurier is pleased to offer the Link Crew program to all incoming grade 9 students. The Link Crew program’s purpose is to help grade 9s feel more comfortable as well as help them achieve success in their first year of high school. It is designed to both welcome and support grade 9s by assigning them a senior student Link Leader as a mentor during their first year of high school. This Link Leader is a responsible grade 12 student who was carefully selected from a large pool of applicants and has met the qualifications of being a good role model and positive leader at our school. Your child will be contacted by their Link leader the week before school starts via their OCDSB email, in order to introduce themselves and personally welcome your child to the school.

On Tuesday, September 5th, 2023, students are encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle and to dress in comfortable clothing, as we will be quite active and spend part of the day outdoors, weather permitting. Students can bring their backpacks, some note paper and a writing utensil as they will be attending their 4th period classes ONLY that day.
