Final Evaluations and Exams
Posted on 12/17/2023
The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board is committed to creating conditions that lead to an improvement in learning for all students. Below, you will find information on the Semester 1 Final Evaluation Schedule. These days provide an excellent opportunity for students to consolidate their learning and work towards improving their achievement. If you have any questions about your child’s progress, please do not hesitate to reach out to the classroom teacher.

Final Evaluation Dates:
January 22 and 23rd are the final regular classes in all subjects. Students will be given a copy of their evidence record (chart detailing their results on class assignments this year) that highlights areas of strength and areas where additional evidence of learning will be gathered during final evaluation tasks. Teachers will also send home details about the specific structure of their final evaluations (e.g. exam, performance task, exit interviews, etc). All students are expected to attend and be available for all 5 Final Evaluation Days as needed.
  • Jan 24: Period 1 Final Evaluations (8:30 - 11:00), or as communicated by the class teacher.
  • Jan 25: Period 2 Final Evaluations (8:30 - 11:00), or as communicated by the class teacher.
  • Jan 26: Period 3 Final Evaluations (8:30 - 11:00), or as communicated by the class teacher.
  • Jan 29: Period 4 Final Evaluations (8:30 - 11:00), or as communicated by the class teacher.
  • Jan 30: Inclement Weather Date (in case snow day should force the postponement of any date above). In some exceptional cases students at risk of not earning a credit may also be called in for a credit rescue opportunity.
  • Jan 31: PD Day - No classes.
  • February 1: First Day of Semester 2.

Additional Information for Students & Parents:

  • Students will be expected to sign out and make their way home immediately upon completion of their final evaluation task. Parents/students should make transportation arrangements.
